Chemical and physical properties: Ethylene and vinyl alcohol copolymer. Low ethylene content results in better barrier properties of the material, whereas high ethylene content lowers its processing temperature. Variants most popular in industry contain 32 or 44 %mol of ethylene. EVOH is hygroscopic material with barrier properties dependant on air moisture.

Application: Widely applied to food packaging due to its low oxygen permeability.  Used in multi-layer structures production and in fuel containers acting as barrier for hydrocarbons.

Health safety: Non-toxic. Eye-irritating.
